Meet Your Therapist, Janine Fourie
I am a registered therapist with the Council for Pastoral and Spiritual Counsellors (CPSC), guided by an ethical framework built on respect, competence, responsibility, and integrity. These principles shape every aspect of my practice, ensuring clients receive compassionate, professional care in a safe and supportive environment.
I am an all-rounder in therapy, enjoying the opportunity to work with clients from all walks of life, from children and parents to adults and couples. I provide tailored support across a wide range of areas, including relationship and family wellness, trauma recovery, anxiety and depression management, neurodivergency support, personal growth, and life transitions. My approach is flexible, allowing me to adapt to each client’s unique situation and goals, ensuring therapy is both meaningful and effective.
As a homeschool mom and parent of two children with ADHD, I have gained firsthand insight into the ways neurodiversity shapes daily life, relationships, and emotional health. This personal experience fuels my passion for neurodivergent awareness, guiding parents and children to better understand their strengths, cope with challenges, and thrive in an inclusive and supportive environment. I also specialize in helping neurodivergent adults discover their unique skills, manage challenges, and improve overall well-being.
I hold an Advanced Course in Pastoral Narrative Therapy, accredited by the University of Pretoria, and bring extensive experience to my work. Using narrative therapy, I help clients explore their life stories, identify unhelpful patterns, and co-create empowering, alternative narratives that foster resilience, confidence, and hope.
Supporting others is more than my profession—it is my calling. I am drawn to clients navigating hardship, uncertainty, or moments of transition, helping them find strength, hope, and purpose. I believe that even in life’s uncertainty, holding onto faith, hope, and love can guide us toward a brighter tomorrow.
For those who find it helpful, I offer pre-therapy phone consultations to answer questions or ease concerns. This is optional, and clients are welcome to begin therapy directly if preferred.
